I am absolutely fine playing favorites. This is my website and I answer to no man! So of course, my first featured happy hour is coincidentally my favorite steak house in Las Vegas: Herbs & Rye.
Just west of the strip, in a “not-so-lavish” area, you’ll find a line outside of the door nearly every day this place opens up, hoping to find an open seat at the bar or being on the first to be on the waitlist. Trust me, I know – I’m probably in line the next time you see it because I’m horrible with making reservations.
During happy hour, which luckily for us is twice a day (Monday-Saturday: 5 pm to 8 pm & 12 am to 3 am), the steak menu becomes a flyer on Black Friday – every steak half off. From the tender, marbled ribeye that promises a melt-in-your-mouth experience to the robust flavors of a perfectly charred New York strip, there’s a cut for every palate. And at half price, you might just be tempted to explore the entire range.
The Drinks
But Herbs & Rye isn’t just about the steaks, as ludicrous as that might sound. The cocktail menu is a meticulously curated collection of classics and innovative creations, each with its own story and a nod to the cocktail’s golden age. It’s the kind of place where you can sip on a perfectly balanced Old Fashioned while debating the merits of a medium-rare vs. medium-well steak with your server, who’s likely as passionate about the food as you are.
