Work smarter not harder is my motto. And in the case of Ashton Jeanty’s rookie season with the Las Vegas Raiders, betting him to have a standout year might be the smartest bet I’ve ever made in my life.
I’ve never been more confident in a rookie than I am with Ashton Jeanty. While I will continue to have doubts about the Raiders being over .500 this year, I will at least be able to enjoy the fact that the soon-to-be face of the franchise will gobble all of the runs and hopefully score a few TD’s while we’re at it.

With Alexander Mattison and Zamir White both gone this offseason, new addition Raheem Mostert won’t get in Jeanty’s way. On top of that, new Offensive Coordinator Chip Kelly loves Ashton, and new coach Pete Carroll has a strong history with leaning heavy on his running backs:
- Marshawn Lynch
- Chris Carson
- Thomas Rawls
- Rashaad Penny
…just to name a few.
So let’s take a look and see how Ashton is going to make me a rich man this season:
Rushing Yards

Jeanty’s line is set at 1050.5 rushing yards. Given his explosive speed and strong collegiate showing, surpassing 1,050 yards should be a walk in the park as long as the O line stays healthy.
Touchdown Machine

The odds of Jeanty scoring over 7.5 touchdowns are sitting at -120. That’s practically free money for a running back of his caliber, poised to lead his team’s ground game.
Offensive Rookie of the Year Odds

Currently at +200, Jeanty is just behind Cameron Ward (+190). But in my book, he’s the frontrunner. His playmaking ability and expected workload are exactly what voters look for.
Ashton Jeanty isn’t just going to have a good rookie season. He’s going to make me (and hopefully you, too) very rich in the process.
