Where to Stay When Visiting the Las Vegas Convention Center

Don’t get me wrong, walking all those steps while you’re at a convention is not for the weak. I make sure to not only wear my Apple Watch to track my steps, but I also post screenshots of my step count in my Tinder profile – the chicks dig it. Trust me on this one.

So after a long day of shaking hands, networking, and making million dollar sales at these conventions, the literal last thing I want to do is hike it allllll the way back to my hotel across town.

And if you’re leaving the Las Vegas Convention Center, chances are 100’s of other people are as well at the same time.

Thats why I like to get strategic with my hotel-stay planning even before the convention takes place. But not everyone is forward-thinking as I am, I get it.

So here is a list of the highly recommended hotels to stay at that are close by the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Resorts World

Literally a straight shot down the street from the convention center, its going to be hard to get lost getting back to your hotel from there. One of the newer hotels in Vegas, Resorts World is almost its own little city in itself.

With shopping, a food hall that’ll satisfy every cuisine you’re craving, lots of concert/entertainment options, and Ayu Dayclub / Zouk Nightclub that’ll keep you busy during any downtime you might have.resorts world food hall bighead vegas (1)

I’ve yet to stay in a room, but the likelihood of their rooms being just as nice as the public areas is very high.

Does this option get the Vegas Local stamp of approval? Does the Vegas Local stamp of approval even exist? No, because I just thought of that idea while typing this post. But if I had one, it would get the stamp.

Circus Circus

Yeah yeah I could write a joke or two about how Circus² unofficial slogan is ‘Come for the gambling, stay for the nightmares” or “Circus Circus: where you can stay in Las Vegas for less than what you lose at the blackjack table” but we’ve all heard that before.

“Circus:Part Deux” gets a lot of hate – and somewhat rightfully so, but there are a lot more pros than cons as of recently.

They’ve put in some brand name fast food places in their food court/hall, they have an underrated steakhouse that doesn’t really get the love it deserves (with a friendly staff might I add), and if you’re not looking to break the bank on room and amenities, especially if you have kids – Circus Circus may be your answer.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Also on the newer side of Hotels/Casinos in Las Vegas, it definitely seems like Fontainebleau has started to find its footing.

I’m not going to talk numbers as to how the balance sheet measures up to other casinos on the strip. Let’s be real, you don’t care about that. What you care about is the experience you have when you’re in Vegas for whatever convention it is.

And with Fontainebleau, you will absolutely be blown away by how beautiful the hotel is. Again, never been in a room, but I can say the attention to detail in the casino floor, the restaurants, and even the lobby is over the top.

It seems like Fontainebleau wants to be where the “new-money” of Las Vegas is spent – and let me fill you in on a little secret, its on its way to that.

Wynn / Encore

Come on, you don’t need me to explain what these hotel/casinos are about. Unlike The Cosmopolitan, where its easy to “fake” that you have money to spend, if you’re staying at Wynn or Encore, chances are you definitely have that money to spend.

I don’t care if you earned it yourself, you’re a trust fund baby, or you’re a sugar baby – no hate at all, I’m jealous. Play on player.

Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino

Not quite on the strip, but close enough to be convenient if you’re at the convention center, the Westgate is probably the best of convenience, price, and amenities. And by amenities, I mean sports betting of course.

The Mecca of sports betting as its known in my apartment complex, is the Westgate Sportsbook. With more tv screens than Times Square, bar food for days, and beautiful women serving you beer every timeout – this is my home away from home.

For all you degenerates out there, you might even see some bigtime sports betters there like Bill Krackomberger or Brent Musburger. I say this only because I’ve seen them both there and it was a rare time I was star struck.
