Let’s keep it real, if you’ve seen at least one of the John Wick movies then chances are you’ve imagined yourself taking down a horde of trained assassins that are coming after you. Well imagine no more, my friend. The John Wick Experience has opened up here in Las Vegas at AREA15 and its the closest 99.99999% of you will ever get to being in the John Wick Universe – and no dogs need to be harmed in this version.
Ballerina opens up tomorrow starring Ana de Armas 😍 and we all know what to expect. A few headshots, a lot of bullets, and of course – our boy Keanu Reeves reprising his role (for MAYBE the last time? That’s what he said recently but that could be a ploy to get us to see the film.. and its working).
But I digress, we’re not going to be in any upcoming JW Universe movies and we’re not going to be with Ana de Armas (or Keanu for that matter). So let’s focus on what we CAN do – we can go to the John Wick Experience and get as close as humanly possible to being in the movies.
I want to preface this, its NOT a true escape room. So many reviews and people going into it expect it to be a full escape room – it’s not. There are maybe 10 or so rooms and only 2 of them are really escape-type rooms. The other rooms are filled with actors who are portraying characters from the John Wick Universe – from casino dealers to arms dealers. And let me tell you, they all kill their performances. The actors do an incredible job at nailing the vibe of being in and out of the Continental.
On top of that, there are 2 different bars in the John Wick Experience that serve some incredible cocktails. Both from a visual aspect and from a “hey I understand that reference” standpoint. Without spoiling anything, I’ll just say “with a pencil…a fuckin’ peeencil”.
And once you’re done running from assassins, killing baddies, and drinking cocktails – don’t forget to treat yourself to something from the John Wick Gift Shop. You deserve it.
